The NBA is in the background as the college basketball conference tournaments take center stage the big dance will be decided upon in a week. The NBA has several teams that have established themselves as contenders in the playoffs and have a real chance to win the championship in June.

The NBA Trades were numerous and complicated for two different reasons. Some teams were looking to get better for the playoffs while others were looking to create space under the salary cap. Teams like the New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards were content on dumping salaries and going into the 2010 free agency with the most available cash to lure what might be the best class of free agents that the NBA has ever seen.

The Wild card round of the playoffs were for the most part high scoring games that saw every game go over the posted total prior to kickoff. There were two competitive games and two games that were blowouts and over in the first half. With the divisional round of the playoffs on deck there are four more offenses and quarterbacks on the field that are very capable

NFC EAST Preview

The NFC East was one of the best division in football in 2008 and looks to be a force again 2009. The Eagles have the most weapons offensively with the addition of Michael Vick. The Giants are the favorites to win the division after getting several key players back from injury.

Arizona Wildcats (14 returning starters)
The Wildcats were finally able to get to a bowl game and win under the direction of head coach Mike Stoops. The Expectations in Tuscon are much higher this year. The Wildcats offense has come into its own under the direction of offensive coordinator Sonny Dykes. In the last two years the offense went from averaging 16.6 points per game to 36.3 points per game.
