WGC-CA Championship at DoralPosted: 2010-03-09
After a less than potent field at The Honda Classic and an even worse Sunday finish, the tour hopes for better things during the Florida swing, heading to Doral this week for the WGC-CA Championship. Camilo Villegas kept the ratings down last week with a five-stroke victory that was never in doubt. He will look to keep his hot season going but he now must contend with 47 other top 50 players in the world as this week we will see one of the best fields of the year.
North Carolina at Duke PreviewPosted: 2010-03-05
This is the 229th meeting in the rich history of this series. North Carolina leads the all-time series 130-98 and has won six of the last eight meetings. However, the Blue Devils took the first meeting in Chapel Hill and with this one at Cameron Indoor Stadium, Duke will be heavily favored for the sweep. North Carolina has won four straight meetings in Durham.
The Honda Classic PreviewPosted: 2010-03-02
The PGA Tour ended its west coast swing last week with Hunter Mahan bringing home the Waste Management Phoenix Open by a stroke over rookie Rickie Fowler. They head east for the Florida swing as it is time to start gearing up for the Masters, that is if Augusta will cleared of the recent snowfall. This week it is The Honda Classic from the Champion Course at PGA National which is a Jack Nicklaus re-design and this will mark the fourth year it has hosted the event.
2009 Southeastern Conference (East) PreviewPosted: 2009-09-03
The SEC has long been considered the toughest conference in football and rightfully so. It has produced the last three National Champions, Florida twice with LSU sandwiched in-between. The SEC leads all conferences in all-time titles with 17 and there will be teams looking to add to that this season and with legitimate shots in doing so. The leader of the pack is defending champion Florida who is favored once again to win the SEC East. The Gators may not even get challenged as the rest of the division is weaker and in a down year for some teams that are looking up at Florida. Nothing is guaranteed but the Gators have arguably the best shot at winning their division as any other team in the country.
