Missouri Valley Tournament PreviewPosted: 2010-03-03
The Missouri Valley deservedly received a lot of attention a few years ago as the cream of the crop among the non-BCS conferences but that stature had faded a bit the last three years. Northern Iowa has clinched the regular season title and appears to be relatively safe for an at-large spot should the Panthers falter in the conference tournament which could be a wide open affair.
NBA Line AnalysisPosted: 2010-02-23
While it would never be recommend to blindly play a game just because a line was at a certain number it is always interesting to take a look back at the spread results in certain ranges once enough data in a given season has accumulated. Now past the All Star break in the NBA season there is a wealth of information to study and some interesting trends to be considered.
Mountain West MattersPosted: 2010-02-22
The NCAA tournament went poorly for the Mountain West Conference last season but this year the league appears to have two teams in line for solid seeding in the Big Dance with two more fighting for at-large positions. Twice in the last five years the Mountain West has had a team in the Sweet 16 so this conference is capable of being dangerous in the postseason.
The Big Ten BubblePosted: 2010-02-19
The Big Ten has produced four quality teams that are locks to be in the NCAA tournament but the conference has not been as deep as last season and the teams on the bubble could be facing uphill battles to get into the NCAA tournament. These are the four teams that technically are still alive to fight for an at-large spot although it will not be an easy road for any of these teams to expand the Big Ten share of the bubble.
Wild West Playoff ChasePosted: 2010-02-10
The Utah Jazz currently hold the #3 spot but nine teams are within six and a half games, separating the #3 seed and the first three teams out of the playoff picture. As we enter the break, the schedules ahead are not created equal and there could be a major shake-up in the standings by season's end. |
